About Constitution Day
Spanish Constitution Day, celebrated on 6 December, marks the ratification of the 1978 constitution by referendum. Drafted after the death of Franco, it sealed Spain's transition from dictatorship to parliamentary democracy and established the country as a constitutional monarchy.
